Live Purposefully
Alex’s Story
Before Christ truly entered my life, I lived with the point of view that I just had to get by as a Christian. No bible studies, retreats or mission trips for me. God was around to help me out with family problems, getting good grades on tests, and those were the only times I ever really felt like I needed to reach out to Him. I lived for me, trying to reason my way around what the Bible has so clearly defined as right and wrong, just so I could make myself happy. Even though it didn’t work, I still kept trying to make myself happy with all of the things the world has to offer. Something just wasn’t clicking inside of me that would make me realize the truth. The truth that Jesus doesn’t want us on Sundays for a few hours, or even the whole day; he wants all of us, the whole package, all the time. If we do not purposely live every day of our lives for Jesus, we need to seriously reconsider our purpose.
That realization came later, after I had started college, when I was out of my element, away from friends, family, everything familiar, and the only thing I had to rely on was God. During this life changing period that quite often defines the rest of all our lives, I met some of the most influential and purpose driven people I will ever meet. But one stands out FAR beyond the others, he is my friend, mentor, comforter, Lord and he loves us all more that anyone could ever possibly imagine.
Jesus began changing my life ever since freshmen year of college and I have no idea what kind of a mess I would be now, without Him. Through his sinless life and crucifixion, he gives life to ANYONE who chooses to take it! I want to encourage anyone who has taken the time to read this that has any doubts about who their life should be lived for, pray. He will listen through any doubt, worry, or uncertainty you may have. God will listen.
Something to ponder: Who better to guide your life that the one who created you to live it?
